Here are the countries we have visited in Australia & Oceania.

Australia

Australia is the largest country in this region, famous for its natural wonders and wide open spaces, its beaches, deserts, and “the Outback”. It is also a highly urbanized, with cosmopolitan cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

We visited Australia twice, once to visit relatives in Sydney in 2007, and the second time to visit SydneyMelbourne, Port DouglasCairns, Yulara, and Alice Springs in 2017, as part of playing the World Masters Games in Auckland.

Easter Island

Easter Island is a Chilean island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeastern most point of the Polynesian Triangle in Oceania.

Ahu Nau Nau

We visited Hanga Roa and the rest of Easter Island in 2018 as part of our month-long South America trip.

French Polynesia

French Polynesia is an overseas territory of France. It is composed of 118 geographically dispersed islands and atolls stretching over 2,000 km in the South Pacific.

Huahine, the Garden Island

We visited the island of Papeete, Moorea, Huahine and Bora Bora over 7 days in 2017 on our way back from New Zealand and Australia.

New Zealand

New Zealand is a sovereign island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses—the North Island, the South Island, and around 600 smaller islands.

We visited New Zealand twice, once in 2007 to visit relatives in Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Balclutha, Nelson, Queenstown and Christchurch. Second visit was in 2017 to play in the World Masters Games in Auckland, and on this trip, we visited Rotorua , Taupo, and Mount Maungani.

Tasmania

Tasmania is an island state of Australia. It is located 240 km to the south of the Australian mainland, separated by the Bass Strait. The state encompasses the main island of Tasmania, the 26th-largest island in the world, and the surrounding 334 islands.

We visited Hobart, Port Arthur, Launceston, Coles Bay and Eagle Hawk Neck on our 2017 trip to Australia. We enjoyed Tasmania very much due to its natural scenery and hiking opportunities within the many National Parks.
